CHERANMAHADEVI COMMUNITY

INTRODUCTION

This is one of the networks to communicate our people all over the world. This network is known as Cheranmahadevi Community (April, 2008) formerly which was coined as Cheranmahadevi Group. This is an internet service to communicate to our people with the help of yahoo commercial network.

PURPOSE

The purpose of starting this is to communicate and organize our people living from various countries and lands. This unable them to communicate their where about, nature of work and places where they live. This may be also used to share their joys and sorrows. Thus it would serve us to come together more closer, though we may be living far away. Here, we can share the messages, convey the greetings, employment news, jokes and current events etc.

FOUNDER

This Cheranmahadevi community has been established by Mr. M.R Felix Denis, on 29^th January 2004, the enthusiastic and hard work of the founder. Now he is the employee of Hajji Hassan Group of Company at Kingdom of Bahrain, he is a young and dynamic personality and also eminent person of our hometown.

GROWTH OF OUR COMMUNITY

2004 January 29^th on wards our Cheranmahadevi Community has been launched, at that period, very few people could join and use this network system. Nobody could post a single message in January 2004 and after that only 52 messages were posted in our community network. In the very earlier period that is in 2004, averagely 4.3 messages could be posted per month in the year of starting. But, next year (2005) onwards the posted messages would be high in level when we compare to the previous year; which is indicated that our community members are aware of our community network and slowly join our community and built our community as a big network. In the year 2005 there were 61 messages were posted, 84 messages in 2006, 68 messages in 2007, 698 messages in 2008 and 802 messages in 2009. This message history clearly indicates our growth and development and shows the knowledge of our people to handle the internet technology very effectively.

Now our community has 95 members (both male and female). This is really remarkable one but, this is not enough because there are more educated people in around our hometown and they do not show interest to involve and handle the modern technology and also do not care to have awareness about our community. This is the big drawback of our hometown people.

GROUP INFORMATION

Now we are having 95 community members and our community has come under the category of Tamil from the Internet service and the language of communication is English which means the messages will be received and sent only in English and which was founded at 29^th January 2004. The description of our community is “Our group belongs to the people all over the world, but basically from Cheranmahadevi, Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu”. In the home page of our network had St. Michael’s picture in the early period, but now we are seeing our own hometown’s St. Michael’s Photo which is really colorful and doing miracle among our community people.

KINDS OF SERVICE

Our community, yahoo groups’ service has given so many internet facilities like poll system, photos and album, databases, various kinds of links, tables, contacts and also attachments etc. Here the followings are used by our community members.

1. Poll

This is one kind of survey method to get the idea about a particular concept and explore that result through our community network; this is the purpose of the polling system and finally we will be given the suggestion and interpretations regarding the kind of poll questions and answers. But, here only two poll questions are asked. First one is asked by the Moderator as the poll question is “What economic problems will Mr. Obama face, the New President of United States?” on 5^th November 2008, and another one was created by Mr. Vengo Regis as “What are the major problems of our security forces on Mumbai Attack?” on 6^th December 2008. Here, our people must be aware of this kind of service and use this facility in the forthcoming days and more interaction will be done in our group by using this poll system.

2. Photo

In our community we have photo albums. Only three kinds of photo album have been established in our community photo album section. They are, Cheranmahadevi by the Moderator, this is the name of the album and this album is containing 5 photos and which was modified at 18^th December 2008. This album was created by our Moderator.

The second album is named as Members which was also created by Moderator; this is the name of the album and this album containing 11 photos and which was modified at 27^th June 2009.

The third album is named as St. Michael’s Festivals this is also created by our moderator; this album containing the 15 photos and this album is modified at 7^th June 2008.

3. Links

Our community having the useful links like our day to day life related or interlinked with us. Because in the ancient days, we wrote the petition on the white paper and handed over it to the higher authority or the collector at Kokkirakulam Tirunelveli. This was also a time wasted project and also inconvenient for retired persons also. So, now a day’s Nellai collectorate office offers this online petition service for our district peoples. By following this link we can give petition to collector directly and intimate our messages to him.

Another useful link is the remote data centre, which is nothing but the ration shop detailed history. That is the quantity of the stocks and what are the remaining things in the ration shop and the quantity of kerosene, sugar, rice and cereals oil etc. These kinds of information we gather from this link.

DATABASE

Our Cheranmahadevi community has the database which is having the table and this table containing the Community contact list, which is name and e-mail addresses and address of the members of the Cheranmahadevi community members. This shows the 19 records and the author of this contact is our Moderator. Other than this community calendar is functioning, each and every moment is always stored and explore in 2 days advance.

CONCLUSION

In this network of Cheranmahadevi community is the one of the group activity which is provided from the yahoo commercial service. In our community members really do the wonderful job with this network and our Cheranmahadevi community is one of the best groups among the yahoo groups for daily activity is done regularly. This is really great achievement and also proud of us. More than this we find ourselves little bit deeper and remove all our lack to communicate with this advancement of communication technologies and also encourage our remaining people to join our community and form a big network and made a great achievement in the future.
